Regulatory Issues Facing Independent Pharmacies

1.Identify laws which have passed in Louisiana that protect patients.

2.List Medicaid and Medicare regulations.

3.List Medicaid and Medicare regulations.

4.Describe current pharmacy audit procedures as required by Louisiana law.

5.List direct and indirect remuneration fees in Medicare.

6.Identify network contracts available to independent pharmacies.

Pharmacy Technician Only Objectives:

1.Outline the major federal statutes and regulations governing pharmacies, including the False Claims Act, Stark Law, and Kickback Statute.

2.Identify recent government enforcement priorities related to pharmacies and common theories of liability.

3.Build an effective compliance program in order to stay off of the government's enforcement radar.

Cancellation Charges

Cancellations received
before September 30, 2020 are subject to a charge of 50% of registration fees per person. Cancellations
following said date are
subject to forfeiture of all registration fees.
