Dear Pharmacy Family,

We are amidst something that is the topic of discussion in every home, workplace, and community worldwide. Our local, state, and federal governments are revealing daily plans of action to address the coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic. Likewise, we will be vigilant in evaluating how this global pandemic will impact the business of LPA. I will be scheduling an emergency conference call this week with our Board of Directors to expedite a strategy for facilitating, cancelling, and/or postponing planned events that are scheduled over the next few months, including our 2020 Annual Convention and Tradeshow in late July. Prior to the Public Health Emergency proclamation issued by Governor John Bel Edwards, we were in the final stages of preparing to release attendee registration information for the convention. We’ll need to delay this process until further public health information is made available in the days ahead.

This pandemic has impacted our lives and our world in ways that we probably never imagined. However, we must be cohesive in our efforts to keep a sense of calm while navigating this problematic situation together. Unfortunately, we all share the commonality of being faced with many life altering events during our lifetime, such as the 911 Attacks, Hurricane Katrina, H1N1 Swine Flu Pandemic and other devastating forces of Mother Nature; yet we continue to rise against adversity. Likewise, let’s remain faithful, knowing that this too shall pass. We must take heed to the professional, expert, advisement being shared by our government officials.

I will continue to update you on the business of LPA as decisions are being made. Meanwhile, please continue to take the necessary actions to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues, your patients, and your communities. As healthcare professionals, we committed ourselves to improving the health of our fellow man, and we will continue to dedicate ourselves to this purpose. I encourage you to stay informed by frequently visiting our Louisiana state government’s website for COVID-19 updates at Also, updates are available at the CDC website,

May God Bless You!!
