LABP Issues Emergency Rule re Pharmacy Technician Training Programs

The following Emergency Alert was released on July 27, 2016:


Accreditation of Pharmacy Technician Training Programs (LAC 46:LIII.905)

Released by the Department of Health Board of Pharmacy

  • Effective July 22, 2016
  • The Board of Pharmacy continues to work on changes relative to the January 1, 2017 requirement that all pharmacy technician candidates demonstrate successful completion of a nationally-accredited and board-approved technician training program.
  • This emergency rule continues the November 30, 2015 rule.
  • This rule shall remain in effect for the maximum time period allowed under the APA or until adoption of the final rule, whichever shall first occur.
