The Louisiana Board of Pharmacy released the following Notice of Rulemaking Activity:

The Board is currently in the process of promulgating a revision of its compounding rule that would allow pharmacists to compound preparations for office use for veterinarians only.  As part of that process, the Board convened a public hearing to receive comments and testimony on the proposed rule, which was simultaneously issued as an Emergency Rule.  During their last meeting, the Board considered the comments and testimony from the public hearing and determined some changes to the original proposal were necessary.  The Board directed its Regulation Revision Committee to develop that proposed language for the Board's consideration at its next meeting on February 24, 2016.  Since the Emergency Rule will expire before the Board can complete the rulemaking process, the Board directed the re-issuance of the Emergency Rule in the interim.  The Board now re-issues the Emergency Rule for Compounding for Office Use for Veterinarians, effective today, January 15, 2016.  A copy of the required notice is available here, and is also available in the Public Library section of the Board's website.
