Pharmacists Only Objectives:

1. Define opioids and related terms associated with addiction

2. Describe opioid effects on the human body

3. Examine the opioid use disorder patient

4. Outline the current opioid epidemic and steps being made to curb the epidemic

5. Identify the unintended consequences of the current plan to address the epidemic

6. Introduce the reversal agent naloxone and the role it can play in the opioid epidemic

7. Demonstrate administration of different naloxone agents

8. Identify the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose

9. Dispense naloxone via standing order in a community pharmacy

10. Examine misconceptions and barriers to naloxone prescribing

11. Provide strategies to prevent the diversion or misuse of opioids

 

Pharmacy Technician Only Objectives:

1. Define opioids and related terms associated with addiction

2. Describe opioid effects on the human body
